A report describes a stone, not a seller
Grading laboratories certify measurable characteristics. Nothing in that document says who holds the diamond today, or how many people are currently claiming to.
Why we built it
Every part of a diamond transaction can check that a report number is real. KimeGem answers the question nobody could answer before: is anyone else claiming this same identity?
Grading laboratories certify measurable characteristics. Nothing in that document says who holds the diamond today, or how many people are currently claiming to.
A report number moves through screenshots, listings, invoices, and chat messages. Reusing it costs nothing, and each copy looks exactly as convincing as the original.
A buyer can verify that a number exists on the lab website. What they cannot see is that three other people checked or claimed the same number last month.
An open lookup of who owns what would be a shopping list. KimeGem matches privately with a keyed index and reveals only a trust score and a rough date.
The certificate may be entirely genuine. The repeated ownership stories attached to it cannot all be.
